1. Introduction

Welcome to F5Type.

F5Type is an AI dictation application for Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android that allows you to speak naturally and turn your speech into clean, formatted text where you are typing.

This Privacy Policy explains how HAPDAY - FZCO ("F5Type", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the F5Type website, applications, and related services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create or use a F5Type account, we may collect:

• Email address
• Name
• Profile image or avatar, where provided
• Authentication information
• Account creation and activity information

2.2 Dictation and Audio Data

When you use F5Type to dictate, the application may process:

• Audio recordings
• Raw transcripts
• Cleaned or final transcripts
• Recording duration
• Language
• Selected writing style
• Dictionary and snippet information
• Dictation history

F5Type is designed around a local-first recording system. Audio is saved locally before being sent for cloud processing. This is intended to reduce the risk of losing recordings because of network failures, authentication problems, crashes, or processing failures.

2.3 Usage Information

We may collect information about how you use F5Type, including:

• Dictation count
• Minutes processed
• Words generated
• Failed transcription events
• Application version
• Operating system
• Error and diagnostic information

2.4 Payment and Subscription Information

If you subscribe in the iPhone or Android app, or in the Mac app from the Mac App Store, payment is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own terms and privacy policies. We may receive information necessary to identify your subscription and entitlement, such as subscription status, product, transaction identifiers, and subscription dates.

If you purchase F5Type directly from us, such as in the Windows app or the Mac app downloaded from our website, payment processing is handled through Stripe. We may receive information necessary to identify your subscription and entitlement, such as subscription status, customer identifiers, transaction identifiers, subscription dates, and cancellation status.

If you purchase F5Type through AppSumo, we receive your AppSumo licence key and its associated entitlement information (such as licence status, tier, and upgrade, downgrade, refund or cancellation events) from AppSumo, and link it to your F5Type account when you activate it.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use information to:

• Provide and operate F5Type
• Authenticate your account
• Process speech-to-text requests
• Clean and format dictated text
• Apply dictionaries and snippets
• Store and synchronize dictation history
• Process AppSumo entitlements
• Manage subscriptions and billing
• Provide customer support
• Diagnose technical problems
• Improve reliability and performance
• Prevent fraud and abuse
• Maintain service security
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not use your recordings or transcripts to train AI models.

4. AI Processing

F5Type uses third-party AI service providers ("AI partners") to turn your speech into text and to clean up and format that text.

4.1 What is sent

When you dictate, only the data needed to create your text is sent to an AI partner:

• Your voice recording
• The transcript of that recording
• Your Dictionary words and snippets, so names and terms are spelled correctly
• Your selected writing style or custom instruction
• The dictation language

Your name, email address and account details are not sent to AI partners, and neither is the content of the app you are typing into.

4.2 Who it is sent to

F5Type currently uses OpenAI as its AI partner for speech transcription and text processing. OpenAI is accessed through F5Type's own backend, a server function hosted on Supabase, so your device never connects to OpenAI directly.

We may add or switch to other AI providers in the future, for example Google (Gemini) or Anthropic (Claude), to improve accuracy, speed or reliability. Before your data is sent to a new AI provider, we will update this list and ask for your permission again in the app.

4.3 Your permission

The F5Type app asks for your permission before any recording is sent to an AI partner. You can withdraw it at any time in the app (Settings → Privacy → AI dictation). Without it, recordings are not sent for AI processing.

4.4 How AI partners may use your data

AI partners process your data only to provide F5Type's features. Under our agreements with them, your recordings and transcripts are not used to train their AI models. We only work with AI partners that provide the same or equal protection for your data as described in this Privacy Policy.

When cloud transcription is unavailable, for example while you are offline, F5Type may transcribe on your device instead. On a Mac this uses Apple's speech recognition, which Apple may process under its own terms; on Windows, iPhone and Android it uses a speech model that runs on your device.

5. How We Protect Your Data

F5Type is designed with data protection and reliability in mind. Security measures may include:

• Authentication through Supabase
• Row-level database security
• Server-side API credentials
• Secure backend processing
• Local-first recording
• Recovery and retry mechanisms
• Restricted administrative access

No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We work to maintain appropriate safeguards for the information we process.

6. Third-Party Service Providers

We may use third-party providers to operate F5Type, including:

• Supabase — authentication, database and backend infrastructure
• OpenAI (current AI partner) — speech transcription and AI text processing; any future AI partner (for example Google Gemini) will be added here before it is used
• Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play) — in-app subscription payments
• Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions bought directly from F5Type
• AppSumo — lifetime-deal purchases and licence entitlements
• PostHog — product analytics
• Sentry — error and application monitoring

These providers may process information on our behalf as necessary to provide their services.

7. Analytics and Error Monitoring

We may use analytics and error-monitoring services to understand product usage and identify technical problems.

Sentry may receive technical diagnostic information such as application version, operating system, error information and performance information.

F5Type is designed not to send raw audio through Sentry and not to include transcripts in diagnostics by default.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website may use cookies or similar technologies necessary to maintain authentication sessions, remember preferences, provide security, understand website usage, and improve the website.

Where required by applicable law, we will request consent for non-essential cookies.

9. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing the service, maintaining account history, resolving disputes, preventing abuse, and satisfying legal obligations.

Specific retention periods for audio recordings, transcripts, account data, analytics and support records will be published here once finalized.

You may request deletion of your data through your F5Type account or by contacting us.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including:

• Right to access your information

• Right to restrict certain processing

F5Type and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live.

F5Type is a professional productivity application and is not directed toward children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

13. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your F5Type account and associated personal information.

Some information may need to be retained where required by law, necessary to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or maintain required business records.

Local recordings stored on your device are under your control and may need to be deleted from the device separately.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we may provide notice through the website, application, email, or other appropriate means.
